Meal-In-A-Bowl Soup (Hamburger soup)
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef or ground pork
1/2 cup chopped onion
3 -10 1/2 oz cand condensed beef broth*
1 soup can water (1 1/3 cups)*
1 10 oz pkg frozen peas
2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 lg carrot, chopped
1 small zuchinni, sliced (3/4 cup)
1 1/2 tsp dried basil, crushed
3/4 ground sage
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
* If desired, substitute 5 1/3 cups water and tbs instant beef bouillon granules for the condensed beef broth and 1 1/3 cups water
Procedure
In large saugepan or Dutch oven cook ground beef or ground pork and onion till meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain off fat. Stir in broth, water, peas, potatoes, mushrooms, carrot, zucchini, basil, saage, salt and pepper. Brin to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
I am always changing this recipe...trying different spices, adding rice instead of potatoes, different vegetables..its great and a big favorite around here...Just use your imagination...You just never know what will taste good...hehe...
