- 2-1/2 cups sugar

- 2-1/2 cups water

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 4 scoops vanilla ice cream

Cut pears in half lengthwise. Put sugar and water into a saucepan and bring

 4 cups cored and sliced unpared apples

1/4 cup water

1 teaspoon cinnamon

 1/2 teaspoon salt

 1/3 cup soft butter

1 cup sugar

 3/4 cup flour



Directions:



Place apples in a 10-inch-square pan that has been lightly greased with butter. Sprinkle water, cinnamon, and salt over top. With a pastry blender, cut butter into sugar and flour and spread over apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. </description>
